What is Zapata AI?
Zapata AI is a veteran-owned small business headquartered in Augusta, Georgia that builds and fields artificial-intelligence and machine-learning systems for the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. Our work focuses on tactical-edge inference, multi-intelligence data fusion, and generative AI on Nvidia GPU hardware.
Is Zapata AI related to Zapata Computing (ZPTA)?
No. Zapata AI is not affiliated with, not a successor to, and not otherwise related to Zapata Computing Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: ZPTA), the Boston-based quantum and industrial-AI company that ceased operations in 2024. Different founders, different companies, different customers, different technology. The two share only a surname.
What is ANIMAS?
ANIMAS (Artificial Neural-Intelligence Modular Analytics System) is Zapata AI’s flagship platform. It ingests multi-intelligence data — SIGINT, GEOINT, OSINT, full-motion video, and structured operational feeds — and lets warfighters and analysts query mission data in natural language, running on ruggedized Nvidia hardware at the tactical edge without requiring reachback to a data center.
What is a Non-Traditional Defense Contractor (NTDC)?
An NTDC is defined in 10 U.S.C. § 3014 as a contractor that has not, for at least one year prior to the contract award, performed on any contract subject to full Cost Accounting Standards coverage. NTDC status enables program offices to use Other Transaction Authorities (OTAs), SBIR/STTR, and commercial-item pathways to bring in modern capability quickly. Zapata AI is an NTDC.
Where is Zapata AI located?
Our headquarters are at 1450 Greene Street, Suite 500, Augusta, Georgia 30901, in the downtown cyber corridor adjacent to Fort Eisenhower and the Georgia Cyber Center.
What is Zapata AI’s relationship to Zapata Technology?
Zapata AI is affiliated with Zapata Technology, an Augusta-based technology services firm founded in 2007. Zapata Technology provides shared infrastructure, cleared-personnel capacity, and administrative support. Zapata AI is the AI/ML-focused engineering arm.
